Most of the time that's just trash talk from CEOs, the fact of the matter is organisations cut down a hell of a lot more trees than they plant.
Oil will run out before wood, and once oil runs out we will be more heavily dependent on electricity. This could mean more trees are expended as a power source, if there are no alternative methods.
Trees will all die one day, this whole planet will die one day - there's no time frame specified in this post. But do I think trees will outlive the human race? Yes, yes I do.
In my opinion, humanity will exterminate itself sooner than it will expend all trees. Unless timber becomes more profitable than it currently is.
