Apparently the dots are there to help you place furni in your hand manually and help you pic it up. It is one of the features of v7.

It's not a glitch
It shows you were the furni goes.
I remember reading something like that somewhere.
I just checked my hand,
and where there was no furni, and where there COULD be furni, there was dots.

Correct its v7, been said in millions of threads[not literally millions]
