I remember it used to be 12 in the UK many hundreds of years ago. But that's before sex was just an add-on to a relationship. Rather than a serious matter just to keep a family going.

Lol I just re-read what I wrote. I remember hearing it in a History lesson or Leisure and Tourism lesson (same teacher). Not that I was actually there in the times of this age, which was sometime in the 1800s

I can't see how the 9 year old one works. Surely they wouldn't be capable of holding a baby? Maybe in that county they're used for pleasure purposes until they're older? Only thing I can think of. Then again, I don't know when a girl actually starts releasing eggs :rolleyes:

It's 14 here in Spain and that map shows a lower age, looks like 12 to me (the colour).
