I don't really have the need to complain as I never get -rep, but I think changing it so bronze members can't -rep would be better. I also think that they shouldn't be able to +rep though as well, making it so they can't -rep is for people who can't hack a bit of their reputation taken away.
Making it so bronze members can't give rep at all means that during the time they rank up their posts, they'll hopefully gain the understanding of what sort of posts do and don't deserve rep (be it negative or positive).

Half the time, I think that's the only thing this forum cares about.
The point is, what damage can a member with under 500 posts actually do... WOW -1 REP, 3 at the most? Wow what a considerate loss...

It's not exactly hard to get pointless reputation removed.

I think it would be incredibly unfair to let only a certain amount of users -rep, as it is declaring they are "better" than the population of users who cannot +rep.

This may also put off new users from carrying on using the forum once joining.

    Leave it as it is.

We should give the right to -Rep. for people no matter what their post count.

Even if there's pointless -Rep., we can report it and have it removed.

Rather than make it so, say a person with less than 500 posts can't -rep why not do it based on a combination of both at least 100 posts and has been a member of the forum for at least 2 months, because people who only post in the spam forum will have a very low post count. Although 100 posts isn't a lot, the fact that the person has to have had their account registered fo at least 2 months balances it out, as length of time being a forum member is more fair apart from the fact that a person could create an account and then leave it for 2 months, which is where the 100 post count balances it out in that situation.

That's a very good idea & post, especially the understanding of what posts do and dont deserve rep etc, I can see where your coming from. If they cant -rep they shouldnt be able to +rep as Robo said.
