18 year olds are worse "/ They have more free time because college (or equivilent) has ended and you now have a long summer holiday which means more playing about until uni (if you go). 17 is a good age to learn, you're busy with learning for a start. Learning at 18 is just as bad as learning at 17, even though I only hear of 18 year olds crashing their cars.

well here in the U.S., 16 is the driving age, and the number of fatal accidents per age goes down from there until about the mid-40's. maybe its different over there for you guys? idk.

Ah I forgot about you living in the US lol. 17 is pretty good to begin, but 18 is just alot of hassle for people going to Uni etc. Other than that, the driving maturity ages are pretty much the same.

18 year olds can steal a car and more 18 year olds probably steal cars than 17 year olds anyway. Considering you must be either damaged in the head or under alcohol, which is legal to driink in public from 18 years old and onward.

i know people who could steal cars when they were 14 :S what does it matter people need no liscence to drive on the road. most accidents happen with teens anyways because of there lack of judgement and there need for speed.

w00t i just moved to the US from Canada! and I can get my permit! (permit, 15 yrs, license, 16 yrs. In canada its 18 for license, no permit)

Here we can get a motorbike at 14
