    mySQL isnt a host. Most hosts contain PHP and mySQL. So just find a host..

    Theres free ones and ones you pay for, but personally if you're paying £52 or so for a vbulletin i'd buy a host instead of free.

    Yes he needs a domain and webhost,

    I'd reccomend namecheap.com for domain.

    But say if my friend can't buy 1, is it fine for him to use a free 1 for now?
