I think it is absolutely ridiculous.

What other official fansites apart from the 2 radio sites get in-game site alerts?

No other official fansite gets alerts almost constantly saying 'Go to ____' driving traffic to their site. Only HabboHut and even more recently Habbo Harmony so of course with all the staff they have going onto their sites they would have been put as 'Gold Tier' - absolutely rubbish idea btw.

Favouritism amongst fansites is terrible and it is clear the staff favour radio sites as they are the only sites to ever get in game alerts. Universe has close ties with the majority of staff so can get them to alert his site almost every time he wants.

Soon there will be NO general sites or forum sites on the official list because they are not what the staff of UK prefer and their bias attitude really shows. This means the community will see their events because of the alert but other fansites do not get the recognition they deserve and are suddenly put into this rubbish ranking system.

It's a shame because YourHabbo, Habbo-Works and Habbos.net all do great campaigns now and then and are the better of the UK fansites though are all under appreciated and do not get the recognition and support by the staff they deserve.

Habbo.net should not even be on the list - all they have is an RSS feed?? :s

and just to add on... unofficial radio sites get in game alerts but official fansites that are not radios do not. Yeah, great...

I find it quite... unsuprising that the two gold-tiered fansites just happened to be staff owned. Very, very fishy...

Errrrr, welcome to the forum. Also, its not that hard to get an alert... You just got to ask a staff member to do it. HelKat used to do alerts all the time for anyone she knew if they asked so its not a big deal...

It's very, very tricky - Sulake HQ didn't really like people doing it, because people see bias - ie.

A brilliant example - ClubHabbo got their own party room by Callie, and Hotel alert, and Evolution forced her to rename it and alert his site afterwards; hence why they don't do it as much anymore - but it's still pretty unfair.

Really, these two-tier fansites thing isn't going to go down a treat if staff are simply putting their own fansites at the top - it sort of ruins the whole point of attempting to put effort into your site if it's just going to be destroyed by staff.

Don't know why my name is coming up but I wouldn't call emailing in and asking her to host a party forcing - do you? And taking your example, if I didn't email in asking for a party... it would have just been you... is that fair? The room was also renamed "The Party Room" so I assumed it was meant to be for anyone who asked for it.

There is quite a difference with a direct alert such as "Tune into clubhabbo.net" compared to an indirect "come party with callie in the party room" where the name is the fansite name...

    p.s @ thread starter - nice find!

Actually, it was "Come party with Callie and Clubhabbo.net in the ClubHabbo Party Room" - I still have the screenshot.

And maybe forcing was the wrong word to use; but the point I am trying to make is that Habbo now only alerting staff-made fansites isn't very productive - kind of ruins the point in Habbo-made fansites, you must agree, Andy?

I agree with you and the person that posted above you that got a moderator warning to some extent. Official radio sites and unofficial radio sites get alerts and that is fine, but other official fansites should also get a chance for an alert for their events also.

I know other sites hold big competitions from time to time and it would be nice to be able to open it to other people aside from those who are loyal followers of the fansite already. Maybe an idea for the staff is that each official fansite (there are 8) could get 1 alert per month? (obv not all at the same time and only for valid reasons)

Yes, totally what I was thinking! If one official fansite should get an alert; then they should all do - or maybe a monthly alert would only before the two top gold fansites; as an incentive maybe? But then again, that theory is demolished because the top-two are almost certainly going to be occupied by the staff owned fansites, who are going to have no regard for any other fansite, because all they worry about is them being "known" on a game for teenagers.

I find myself increasingly uhm, whats the word - angry? as I type this, I really disagree with this new ranking of fansites, simply because of how it's being ranked with the staff fansites at the top.

Many fansites do hold big campaigns - good examples being YourHabbo: I'm A Habbo, Get Me Out Of Here, or ClubHabbo: The Battle for the Summer Throne - plus i'm sure many other fansites, including Habbos.net do pretty good and well planned events - but Habbo are more then likely going to refrain from assisting in their advertisement.

BUT WAIT - HOLD ON; anyone remember the HabboHarmony Challenge, towards the end of January this year? What was the prize? A full set of rare dragons, a dino egg, trophies from Habbo Staff, etc. etc.

Now call me stupid if i'm wrong, but what NORMAL Habbo's would be able to get such prizes, and willingly give them away? Not many; that's for damn sure, so how the hell do Habbo give their Staff the right to willingly show bias to so many fansites, by exploiting the system and giving away furniture in competitions on their own fansites? Now to me, that seems pretty screwed up, do you agree?
    eek.
