You are all talking about American, British, English, Scottish, Irish accents.

    English has loads of accents
    - Geordie
    - Scouse
    - Yorkshire
    - Devon
    - Brummie
    - Queen's English
    - Cockney
    etc

Scottish - You can totally tell the difference between someone from Glasgow and someone from further north. The further north you go, the nicer the accent. IMO Glasgow accents are dirty!! There is even a difference between Aberdeen and Inverness accents.

What do you define as a "British" accent???

Obviously in America you can tell the difference between a Texas person and a California person.

Personally all Welsh accents annoy me, I hate Glasgow accents and quite a few of the English ones do. The southern American accents are weird and I don't really like the sound of German/Dutch, the phonetics are very harsh.

I'm weird in the sense that I have two accents I regularly use - a mix of Leeds and posh English when I'm in England talking to English people, but when I'm with my mum or other Scottish family I sound like I'm from Inverness (commonly called Dorich dialect).

Also just thought - there are even huge differences in Yorkshire accents. You can tell the difference between someone from Barnsley and someone from Leeds. (ew at Barnsley )

Try sitting on a train from Aberdeen to London Kings Cross and then tell me what a British accent is.

    I'm defying gravity.

I'm now at university in Worcester. I'm not around on here much, but PM/e-mail me if you wish.
