    surely if the fan were to detach from the roof, not only would there be a hole in the roof of which the wires are fed through but the wires would also be frayed and broken, leaving an electrical hazard?

    When you re-attatched your fan to your wall did you personally re-route the wires and plaster the hole in the ceiling?

    nonon. i small fan. that turns side to side and you can make it point one way...
