I don't think people who play runescape play it because they can't afford WoW. Not everyone likes WoW, it may be a better game to some, and sure it's certainly better made and more established, but some people like runescape more. Each to their own and that schism.
I didn't notice about the forum, not sure it even makes a difference really.
