There were major camera angle issues where the camera tried to get behind Sonic when you were stationary but you purposely were stationary to look at something. That's definitely one issue I remember. Another was running in the first level of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle where the camera liked to look up more than at the road ahead of Sonic. But they weren't all that bad. The games are too easy, the Sonic 2D games kept you guessing and it allowed you just enough time to respond to a dip in the road of a bad guy. Sonic 3D games are "get to B from A as fast as possible," rather than collect this many rings, score this many points and look for the chaos emeralds in the special zones.
Lol I completely agree with Sonic Heroes. There was issues with the camera angles, but when I think about it, there wasn't anything they could really do. That game was definitely a major culprit of "get from A to B this fast" and didn't give any alternative routes. Sonic 2 loved different routes. At Mentor's flat in Uni he had his MegaDrive and there were 3 routes per level, depending on when they came up. There was a high route which offered loads of boxes, rings and very few baddies. A middle route which offered minimal danger and a lower route which was tough and for people wanting to risk everything
