Edit - Just looked, you're right "SMB" was on NES, it was "SMW" that I had on SNES and "SMB1" on NES

You may be getting confused with Super Mario World, which was on the SNES and was called Super Mario Bros 4 in Japan.

Mario Bros was indeed the first Mario game, but it wasn't a console game, it was an arcade game. Although now they've remade it and released it on home consoles.

But Super Mario Bros was the first Mario game on the NES.

Apologies, I was referring to it as the first ever console game. Technically, the first ever Mario game is Donkey Kong in the arcade.
