What's exactly wrong with the article?
He's a critic discussing his opinions on the Xbox and so on , it may be strongly worded but if you actually watch tv shows or read articles in magazines with people discussing their opinions you'd find articles exactly like this.
This wasn't even a bad read, sites need more articles like this which express peoples opinions in a humorous way and are not long lectures which no actual teen would be bothered in reading.

Yeah, I do believe the rules for official fansites are a bit daft...

On HabboValley, I interviewed someone who mentioned they would love to have 'posh furniture' on Habbo like chandeliers etc... so I called the title 'Victoria Beckham of HabboValley' (she was the forum manager at the time).... and apparently, the official fansite 'handbook' says that article names aren't meant to be interesting but informative so my article was changed to 'Sianness, HabboValley Forum Director.' How is that meant to attract anybody?

Lame rules that need to be changed. In that article though, the language is kind of strong and may need to be toned down a bit but the article topic isn't offensive...

What's the point in Habbox being official if we're not going to get anything out of it.

lmao... they just want the representative badge
I do think there are more disadvantages than advantages to being official

Exactly what most people think, most of the benefits with becoming official Habbox already had! Popularity... and that's about it for benefits of becoming official, power doesn't really exist "/

I think official status is just a way of us reinforcing the idea that we are the best and now it's official.

@ SS - The article itself is brilliant but the swearing was out of order and has been dealt with as it was the main issue.

That's a bit of big-headed view on the official status and it's all down to opinion really. Habbox doesn't need the official status, never really has considering the benefits are already there, but now there are restrictions that will just cause the management to focus on keeping that status, and staff have to be told what to do incase they offend or do something that is against some Fansite Way.

Hey, sorry for the late reply, I've been away since about 2PM yesterday so this has only just come to my attention.

Firstly, I'd like to point out to Favourtism my PM box (as well as the senior writers'). It isn't difficult to send a PM alerting one of us to the matter instead of kicking up a fuss in public.

But as for the article: MAD pm'd me with a link to this thread explaining in the PM that he felt the language was too strong and the amount of opinionation (for want of better word) was far too high. Now, I cannot argue at all with the fact that the swearing is far too far, and Dan has been a writer long enough to know that it isn't allowed, so I shall be addressing that issue.

However, as Shane and Joey have said, the article was still entertaining. Entertainment is the main aim of every article posted, whether it be through tension, laughter, horror, intregue or other means. The fact that it is controversial and opinionated to me is irrelavent, in fact it helps to up the level of entertainment by getting people to think about what they've read, and email him back with comments. Every article written is a demonstration of the writer's opinion anyway, that's what seperates them from news reports. If MAD doesn't like opinions in articles, I think I'll be having a serious talk about what output is actually desired from this department, because reading room reviews and site reviews 24/7 is only fun for so long!

Sorry about that, it came across more arrogant than it meant to! What I was trying to say is that although Habbox doesn't need the status it is a nice recognition to show that the work the staff puts in really is valued but it seems you may be right in the idea that the site may cut back a little on what it really thinks and if that does happen and the staff get overly-regulated well, it'll be very sad.

I totally agree with you Alex... nobody wants to read reviews all day. As good as they are, articles means so much more.
