It wont have much effect, most computer's now have Vista built in, and Xp is running in the dark.

When Windows Vienna comes out, It will be just as popular, and this time in 4 years, Vista will be in the background

    I've just read they're now supporting until 2014. http://www.heise.de/english/newsticker/news/107859

I remember XP being hated, it's just Vista's turn to be infamous.

it was 2 years, not fairly soon...now it's 6 years.

If rumors are true, Windows 7 will have ABSOLUTELY NO backwards compatibility, Microsoft want a clean slate.

Then remind me not to get Windows 7 .

Yeah I was thinking about doing that.

Vista's good depending on how good ones computer is. I've ran it on a 1.8Ghz, 1GB ram system and it was terrible. It works well, however, on my Duo core 2.0Ghz 2.5GB ram notebook. It's a resource hog, but I like it.

Are you joking? I am running Vista on a Intel Pentium M 740 / 1.6 GHz (uhh...?) cpu, 2gb RAM and it is more then fine, there is no problems at all.

Microsoft make my stomach turn, they need to get back to pleasing customers rather than their accountants.

I don't really mind that XP is going off the market. I've recently bought an iMac and my laptop is running Vista and it's just fine.
