Is it not that you're ment to try and push yourself up against a wall while faling and jump when you think you're about to hit the ground?
if you jump when it's about to hit the bottom you'll still hit the bottom at equal force, if not hit the roof. you most likely wouldn't know where the bottom is anyway.

Jumping wouldn't really help. The first issue is obviously timing.. and the second is that even if you jumped, you'd still be hitting the ground at the same force that you would be if you were just standing there. If anything, you'd increase your chances of dying by jumping, haha.
Your BEST bet (and what I'd do..) is just lay down and cover my head. Laying down is the best thing you can do because when you hit the ground, the impact isn't just on like your feet, legs, etc., it's spread across your entire body and it takes like.. 25x (or something like that) more energy to break your bones when you're flat then when you're standing.![]()
