Its one of the oldest theme parks in the UK starting in 1896, and its definitly the most popular in terms of guests. For 2007 it was 14th most visited theme park in the world, and the only theme park from the UK in the Top 25. It beat Alton Towers by about 3 million visitors. In 2006 it had the same amount of visitors as Universal Studios. It doesn't quite have many records, but it has tallest rollercoaster in the UK. So not everything he said their was complete rubbish, it was either fact or misconstrued facts.

And the bit I bolded is really matter of opinion, rather than complete rubbish.

On a completley unrelated note to the above, I love Pleasure Beach, Blackpool. It certainly outdoes a lot of theme parks in the U.K and has plenty of rollercoasters. Innit.

Yes but he was comparing them to Europe. Also there is no way that Blackpool P.B can be compared to other global themeparks on the ride scale. Visitor wise, blackpool is controversial.... it's like saying that the Natural History Museum was the most visited attraction in the world last year, because there were so many millions of visitors that went to London last year. Blackpool might have plenty of people on the pier or whatever it is, but alot less are paying to go on rides. Also, I wouldn't neccessarily say it outlines most parks in the UK, based on the fact that it is more like a fun fair than a theme park.

I have never been to an English theme park. USA has got to be called the best country for theme parks and the weather kind of helps.

I really can't believe people are so hyped up about going to blackpool. Most of it is a total **** heap, take it from me - I LIVE THERE!

But, Pleasure beach is okay, as long as you love rides. Although I think it's too expensive, crap weather and too many queues.

Better to go on weekends other than holidays

(If u lyk swimming get a tram and go down to the sandcastle )

The numbers are based on how many people visit Pleasure Beach Blackpool - THE THEME PARK. Not Blackpool itself. Just like the Natural History Museum bases it's figures on admissions, not how many people that visit London. So yeah, its based on admission prices to the theme park, not Blackpool, the pier, or attractions surrounding the theme park itself. Admission numbers to the pleasure beach don't include going on the ferris wheel on the pier... and saying its more like a fun fair, well, I would just like to know what type of fun fairs you go to!

I really am sure that some people in this thread don't actually understand what Pleasure Beach, Blackpool is....it isn't a beach, it doesn't include the piers, or the casinos, its just an attraction in Blackpool, a theme park in Blackpool.

    OMG IT WAS AMAZING
    literally aha

because it was raining pretty much everywhere in northwest i think hardly anyone went
i went on pretty much every rollercoaster + ride like 2/3 times
apart from infusion and valhalla, just once for them.

Weather was okay/amazing after 10 at different points, and it started raining at 5 and i left at 6 so it didnt really matter.

    OMG LOL
has anyone been on that pasage of terror thing?
omg its not in the pleasurebeach but its when you're leaving it
    OH MY GOD LOL
its scariest thing ive ever been on, i litreally was shaking,
i was at the back too!!! !!! LOL
    so good.
the actors are so talented, loved it.
i like blackpool alot now, especially the fact that apart from valhalla which broke down, no rides broke down on us [big one did, but only for inspection WHILST WE WERE GOING UP LOL, and all these people are shouting to us "YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!"
and i was like "NAH DONT THINK SO" and we were stuck halfway up

    LOL
    k rant over
train took time to get there, and proper knackered on way back so just had a red bull
    explains the rant

    p.s.

anyone who went, you see some goon with a red blob in his hair (Y) that was me LOL x
im the one who screamed on the ice blast going up, and literally the whole park heard me LOL
