If anyone can remember all the huge changes a months ago, the most important change for me was 'The common sense rule' which Professor-Alex brought in, it means Moderator's are meant to use their common sense if something in the rules is unreasonable for that circumstance. By the looks of it, this approach has already diminished.
I'm forever seeing inappropriate posts though all over the forum and there isn't a rule about posting inappropriately so they get away with it. Instead of wasting their time on infractions like this, can't there be a rule for posting inappropriately, like crossing the line as it's done way too much and unless they go into detail about sex then nothing can be done.
Lol Moderators just like giving out infractions because it looks good on their monthly report
I found out it was pathetic when I was perm banned for Re-opening a thread which had been closed.
Surely thats an infraction not a Perm ban? I also had no infractions before that either. Only 1 warning. To me habbox has kinda get pathetic over the last year or so.
Dont know if im the only one who thinks that though but im sure most people will agree that HabboxForum needs to be sorted out.
That's because it's classed as abuse of VIP powers and that has always resulted in a permanent ban.Lol Moderators just like giving out infractions because it looks good on their monthly report

But VIP's are paying for this site to stay open and for you to have something to do (Moderate) so if people get permed banned for opeing a thread there obv not gunna buy VIP again.
The problem with moderators using common sense is that it involves that fateful principle of perception. One can be obviously rude to one person can be seem as harmless banter and even humour to another person. Sarcasm, unfortunately, is often right on the border. Unless used to comedic effect, personally I can't stand sarcasm because it makes the person sound arrogant and nasty where he can put the same point across without using sarcasm. The case highlighted in this thread appears to be an extreme case and one of genuine error rather than justifiable misinterpretation, but if moderators are able to decide what is and isn't punishable a certain degree of flexibility has to be allowed for.If anyone can remember all the huge changes a months ago, the most important change for me was 'The common sense rule' which Professor-Alex brought in, it means Moderator's are meant to use their common sense if something in the rules is unreasonable for that circumstance. Staff and moderators are on the same level in the habbox hierachy. A moderator punishing a staff member makes them seem above the staff member, but moreover can create tension and even arguments, especially if the person being punished works in the same department as the moderator.
Despite the fact that you pay for the right to be able to close threads, you still have the responsibility not to abuse it. If you break the responsibility, you get punished for it. The consequences are made pretty clear and are designed as a deterrant as much as a punishment.

I know but atlest have more than one person who can punnish a rule breaking staff, like alloud ADMINS to do so.
Even if its opening the thread to finish your side of the story, and then CLOSING it to prevent further arguements?
Dont quite get that...
