What no way, that gets in the way of getting one all the way down and is just boring anyway. Tribal will go out of fashion in a couple of years and you'll look stupid with it, and you shouldn't just think "I want a tattoo" and get any random design. Make one yourself, wait a few months (yes, MONTHS) and if you still like it after that time then perhaps get it.

If you wanted your name, get it in a differnet language like japanese or somthing. BUT do some research and make sure its deffo your name as you dont want to get the tattoo and find out it dosn't say what you want. If you want your name than i would get it on your forearm like you said or wrist though maybe its a bit more girly on your wrist, but its what you prefer.
Also if i was you, i would get somthing that means somthing to you, that tribal stuff is just fashion and will soon go out and then you are stuck with it, oh and everyone has too though you could get a animal in a tribal style which would look nice.
But yeah, get something that means something to YOU, you have it for life. I can just suggest a animal or you name OR if you have kids (which obv you don't) you could get their names on your arms.
