They're just elitists then who probably think themselves better than the rest of the world for knowing these "hidden truths" which you can get off a google search

The television programmes in question were based on the occult, which literally is anything supernatural and beyond our comprehension. Do not get snippy over people making legitimate references.

And no, I do not study the occult, I prefer just to read my fiction.
