I often put it to sleep when I have my dinner/tea or if I'm going in the shower.

Think you press shift on the shutdown menu on XP?

Anyway, I always use it much nicer to be able to jump straight into the action

I never use sleep or hibernate, when I'm not using it for an extended period of time (like when I sleep) I just turn off various things like the monitor and speakers.

My laptop automatically goes to sleep after a while, at night I turn it off, or if I'm not using it for a while I turn it off.
