Yes, I know that, but they could of thougt, "Okay, chitter, twitter, a bird.. tweets?" Seeing as tweeting is a high pitched sound I believe? Anyway, I'm not saying I'm right either - I'm implying their could be other reasons that effected their name choice.
Your idea is pretty far fetched (no, i'm not starting and argument) but who knows who is actually right.
They named it Twitter.
They call the updates Tweets.
They call updating tweeting.
No where in the history of the site.. has the word chitter ever been published.
They don't call it Chitters.. or Chittering..
I just don't see your logic to be honest..
I've been in this section for over 3 years and never before have I seen it in a worse state than it is now. Get the **** down from your pedestal and stop trying to cause arguments. You want to know why this section is so bad? It's because of ******** like you who think they're all amazing. My site does work for your information, it's just Tumblr is being a ***** to it right now.
Twitter is actually a very random word for the site, no it does not have to do with the site at anyway. They obviously got the idea of "twitter" form "tweet". How does microblogging relate to something a bird does? hmm...
Please just leave this section, as you seem to know nothing and just want to start arguments, as there was no reason for your anger against me. I was simply posting and you take the offense, not anyone else.
I'd explain why twitter, but I don't think your tiny brain could handle the explanation.
I said it could originate from chitter, not they use chitter on their site, stop causing arguments jeez, who cares, I don't have a clue, nor do you.
I know, it's from the word twitter believe it or not .
It's not hard to understand.
Clearly avoiding this useless thread.
How could it originate from chitter? What is the obvious evidence, or at least a well-thought out idea, that it could come from that?
Present some evidence on why you think it could come from chitter, other then the fact that is what a bird does.
So tell us, why would twitter originate from chitter?

To make a series of high-pitched sounds; to twitter, chirp or chatter
