I was only smacked if I ever did somethign major wrong. In heinsight it definitely taught me whats right from wrong and it's definitely did me no harm.

If my kids do anything wrong they will be smacked.

I'm not talking about a leathering, lol, obviously the strength of the smack is very little indeed.

I was 'Smacked' when I was younger if I done something really wrong. It was only on a rare occasion anyway... I think it's certainly acceptable.

Course its acceptable, I cant remember any times I was hit as a kid but when we are really young we obviously dont have that great of a grasp on behaviour. Its like having a new dog, need to teach it right from wrong somehow before it gets into a pattern of being bad. I dont mean slapping the face or body or anything thats just abuse but its a parents obligation to the public to keep their child in line. I wonder how many walking asbo's werent spanked as kids.

tbh as a kid i was a pain in the bum.
and i only got smacked a few times but i understand why cause i pushed them to the limit.

Nowadays i get on wid my dad and sis so no need really.
