How does this VIP Rule work exactly?

The idea is that a colored name for donation is simply "recognizing" them for donating and allowing people who donated to be "recognized" by other forum members.

Problem is that Sulake enforces the spirit of the rule - not the word of the rule. Either they will reject our definition or change theirs, they have the ability to make the rules however they want since they have the magic copyright.

Exactly what i was going to say so if they make the rules and they are saying recognition we are allowed to use then why cant we call bigger avvys, sigs, viewing rep etc recognition for donating. I totally agree with Jewish Bear they are playing and enforcing a flawed rule, exploit it in my opinion.

Surely the other features of VIP could come under that wording too? I like how are so bad an properly enforcing rules. They don't stick to the script, they make it up as they go along.

Exactly, it could, however they say anything which provides "extra features" or an "extra level of access" is unacceptable. They simply don't recognize a name color as "extra features".
