Now the achievements are a totally different thing, and it just so happens to be that there is an achievement called "Gain a coloured name". And it's not as if you can only gain a coloured name by donating anyway, you can earn it by winning member of the month.
I think I understand, but what's the point of the achievements feature when the only thing donators get will be the coloured names? It just sounds like what Habbox is doing now, but a bit more complicated and a full on feature that provides all members with achievements when these achievements could be added using the ranking system.

I don't really understand what you are saying there but if you are trying to say that achievements will be complicated then I dissagree. Imagine a page with a list of achievements and rewards. Users would be able to check that page for anything that they have already achieved or even set targets to reach a specific achievement. Just like the request your VIP features thread, there could be a request your rewards thread. So you would post in there saying what achievements you need rewards for. Also, there could be an achievements editor just like there was a VIP editor. It's as simple as that.

Basically, that these achievements just appear to be the member ranking system. Achievements based on the age of the account and the amount of posts are exactly how the ranking system works and there appears to be no other way to get these achievements you speak of, other than being a donator, but that only gets you a coloured name, which you get anyway from donating.

    So for example:

5,000 posts is a goal, you reach that goal so therefore you have an achievement. The next goal could be holding the account for 2 years. You reach that goal and have an achievement. Your account is upgraded to Platinum (for example) and you have passage to a casino and such.

I don't get how this is just a way for donators to get VIP features, when anyone can get them :S

The idea, as I see it, is this:

"If you 'achieve' a coloured username - you unlock the reward of the VIP features."

Because there are other ways to achieve a coloured username than donating (winning competitions, becoming Management, etc.) - you're not paying for VIP Features, just being rewarded for completing an achievement.

its a really good idea, but you should try and make them more challenging to achieve rather than giving them a certain number of posts to reach because it'll promote spamming.

The thing is though, if you forget about achievements for a second and strip it bare, the process would be a user pays money, and in return gets an extra feature which is what they forbid. The people at Sulake aren't a machine with a strict set of rules which we can find a loop hole in - they are humans and can easily pick out any 'rule bending' we try to do.

I know you mean users have to work for the extra features, but if I read your post right then it's only donators who are eligible which would mean they have exclusive access (because they can aim for things normal users can't). If that's not what you meant, feel free to hate on me and ignore my post!

It's not exclusive because anyone on the forum can get the "gain a coloured username" achievement by winning member of the month.

However users who donate have an unfair advantage by being able to pay for their coloured username, which then gives them access to the achievements. Which is, essentially, paying for access to premium features. It's a nice idea though.

Small donations such as what is available now for a coloured username as a thanks and recognition, is as far as they can go in the giving us extra's department.
    Hi

Was I not right in saying this?

Because Habbo's only problem was that Sites made money out of giving us features but we can get the features for free anyway? :S:S:S
