Yeah we applied for it but BBC wouldn't allow it if UK were entering aswell because we're still included in there so it's like .. what?:S Honestly, we'd prob do **** anyway so we may aswell stay with the rest of the UK

Because for a channel to participate in the song contest they need to be part of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union). Quite a few channels in the UK are part of the EBU however BBC is the one who has the contract to enter Eurovision and broadcast it, and while Eurovision is broadcast by the BBC they will continue to enter as United Kingdom. SO DER.

Yes however other countrys can still apply for membership, but it all comes down to the BBC's choice, they could still split it up and show it on the regional channels (BBC wales, scotland, N.Ireland etc.) However i believe the welsh broadcaster S4C is interested in joining the EBU to participate in the ESC.. but onto the main point of the thread i liked ukraines "be my valentine" very catchy!
