    hmm, i need a job.

ive got a £20 month contract on my phone, ive got a bank account with about £125 in, im earning £72 a month and I spend it as soon as I get it. My bill is due to be paid on the 15th of this month, then i'll need to save up a bit to get the £50 for provisional.

You should look at alternatives instead of going on a contract. Try Tesco Mobile.. Top up £10 and you get £20 free credit... I don't know how you use your phone so i don't know if this would work.

You probs on a 12 month contract right?

You can apply for your Provisional 3 months before your 17th Birthday. You cannot learn to drive a car until you turn 17. At this stage you can pass your test at 17 and be allowed to drive.

It has been debated to higher the driving age and speculated all over, however it is not going t happen for the time being, you would easily know about it if it were to change.

Yeh what happens is you apply for a moped provisional (£50) and then when you're 17 they give you a car provisional for free (AFAIK)

I was going to link to that as well.

Rumours about the driving age increasing have been around for ages. And like the website says, there are no plans at all.
