Yeah, most (if not all) of the big ones do. But it's mainly the people who upload the torrents that they're after.

However if you go with usenet and pay a measly £10 a month you get the following:
    *****in' fast downloads
Download massive files before they're even released anywhere near torrents (usually)
    Encryption that works
No chance of your ISP catching you because they can't decrypt anything and companies can't monitor what you're downloading

Why would i encrypt my torrent any more than you would a standard download over http? or care whos looking on through a torrents peers or worry about not having enough peers for a fast download??
The entire point of my post was the fact i use torrents for LEGAL reasons, linux distributions, opensource and free software etc. These things generally have a huge userbase hence a nice fast download, are totally legal meaning trying to encrypt or hide from peers in a torrent is totally useless to me?
I use torrents as they lesson the load on the server a similar http download would, i'm happy to do this as its free, i'm not going to pay a 10£ for that same privilege?
So i'd gain no advnatage from any of that unless my aim was simply to waste my money??

Not everyone use's torrents purely for illegal reasons...

Can someone write a guide on usenet if they have time? It sounds tempting but I can't work it out cos I'm thick and wikipedia isn't useful
