Haha that's the best idea .

This is coming from someone who hates Microsoft and especially IE and who actually uses Opera as a secondary browser after FF:

This whole thing is stupid though. Surely the same principle could apply to hundreds of companies in dozens of markets? :S Imagine if Ford made a car, but when you went to buy it, it didn't have any tyres because they had to ask you which ones you wanted out of a selection before they could fit them (not the best example I know, because they don't make their own tyres, but you get what I mean).

Even in the same market, as was mentioned above - are Apple being forced to do this? Considering more people use Safari and hate IE surely they should pick on them? I don't see why they are targeting MS .

Also this is not even the full story. Microsoft won - it was supposed to be Windows 7 'E' but then Microsoft had this idea so the told the EU the EU accepted and now Microsoft Windows 7 is shipping with IE8 and then this screen comes up VIA and update.
And lose millions upon millions of potential customers? No lol.

It doesn't, at the bottom of most W7 pages on the MS site it tells you to have a browser ready on a CD/DVD/USB stick or some other form of media.

It's totally ridiculous. I can however seeing it help chrome greatly. The generally Tech savvy person will be using Firefox already and those who aren't so Technologically minded will go with what they recognize which will be Microsoft or Google.

And Macs get to ship with their own browser, without a choice. What a load of tripe.

That's kind of unfair calling people who use IE (or dont want to change browsers) noobs.
