Sorry, I dont follow AFL. Rugby League and AFL hate each other (Rugby League is a NSW and QLD sport while Aussie Rules is a VIC sport) but your closing in on League territory and we're getting peved.

I wont reply to you considering this isn't football and I don't feel as passonate about rugby as I do football however I will say that I've played both league and union. Guess which one I ****** my knee up in?

I was joking, but I do doubt that League is the toughest ball game in the world, you can provide all the bias facts and opinions you want, but I aint buying that one bit, uncontested scrums? that's what rugby is all about, yes I know it's faster, but Union in my opinion is the 'tougher' of the two games, you just have to look at the size of the players to realise that. So get off your high horse.

Second of all, look in wiki under Sonny bill williams and see what he states. You just have to look at the sheer athleticism of League players to realise what they do is just as hard as Union.

I think you need to be a lot tougher (mentally and physically) to play rugby league.

I guess there is arguments for both forms, but my opinion is the bigger the players the more physical it'll be, but that's just based on opinion. :8

Cant say I understand what your talking about in the first sentence. football is the worlds most popular sport but thats due to many reasons, eg. all you need is a round ball that, in poorer countries, can be made out of rags. The rules are very simple. Football is a lot older as union evolved from football and league and gridiron both evolved from union (I seriously think that rugby league, and I know almost all rugby league fans will agree, that rugby league would be contending for that spot as the worlds most popular sport if it wasn't for the super league wars, but you probably dont fully understand that). Football tickets around the world are a lot cheaper than rugby league tickets as league (and union, and afl, and grid iron all) needs much better facilities (for example, look at old trafford and compare it to anz stadium, which can hold more fans?) Football doesn't have such a low salery cap (if any) but rugby league does. Football can be played by anyone of any race and size that have average physical qualities, they just need to learn skill where as sports such as league and union (afl is the same as football in this case) you need to be born with seperate qualities to be born into seperate positions on the field and either you have potential or you dont. Rugby league, union, ect costs a lot more to play in minor leagues (for children) as gear gets destroyed a lot more! And the last one I can think of (because it's quite late in Australia) is that we dont get enough people playing when they are younger because of over protective perants... Ever heard of the term, soccer mum?
