Not naive, at all. Not one bit. It's pretty simple, SECURE Socket layer (SSL), which basically means if it's running via SSL all communications on the internet are encrypted and cannot be seen.

Do you not get it? course I know what an IP address is. But that doesn't make any difference to this at all, they (Virgin Media) would check the incoming traffic via my IP, and they'd see an SSL connection, they wouldn't have a clue of what was being transferred through that SSL connection, because guess what?
