Is friendship affected by distance?

I find that some long distance friends are actually closer to me than some of mine irl. :S like, i feel that i can just confide in them with secrets. Cos tbh, who are they really going to tell? :L They can be great company online, but i guess it'd probably be a stronger friendship if they were communicating to you face to face as you can't always tell if someone online is actually your friend or likes you for that matter of fact as i have witnessed online.

my close mates that i tell most things r online tbh. my mates irl i do tell stuff, but not as much. its crazy times.

i have met some amazing people online, infact they are better friends than some of the friends i had at school. i feel more comftable talking about stuff online to friends that irl but thats just me. ive met most of the people i know online anyway and its really good to stay in contact with them and i think i will for the rest of my life.
