Bloody ridiculous. Passive smoking is worse than actually smoking.

If they increase the price of alcohol in the supermarkets too, then the governments plan should work to an extent.
It will not work, alcoholics and so on who will drink regardless of the price will continue whereas those who are responsible law-abiding drinkers are the ones being punished, the ones who have families to look after and bills to pay.

Thank you, and thats the way the left have always worked - those who look after their houses, work hard and pay their bills are taxed, taxed and taxed some more whereas those who have never done a days work in their life, dont pay out to keep the appearance of their house nice don't have to pay as much tax as the average person does.

The same applies to this case, the majority are being punished for the actions of the minority and the worst thing is that our government knows it won't make a blind bit of difference except for one thing; £££

And if you wanna buy me flowers
    Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours

You make it sound like the ban on smoking in pubs has stopped people smoking all together. It hasn't even reduced smoking! If people want a cigarette they just go outside and have one, even if it's raining! As for passive smoking, I know they say it's worse, but I've been "passive smoking" all my life and I'm still alive.

This proposed plan for the sale of alcohol is exactly the same as the smoking ban - if people want alcohol they will still find a way to buy it regardless of its price.
