Hmmm, when that happened with mine, a quick tog on the cable fixed it, to make sure it was actually connected properly. Have you tried wiggling it around in the slot?

if you have a spare HD cable lieing around, like if someone in your house is using another HD cable for freesat or skyHD, then borrow that and youll get your answer. If it cant do 1080i but does so on other TVs, make sure your ps3 settings are set up correctly. Hold the button on the playstation in until it double beeps (from standby)

ive tried wiggling it about but to no avail. 1080i works. i just cant get 1080p too? it just comes up "searching for signal" as if it cant find it, then it comes back on but will not allow me to save it with 1080p selected. am i right in thinking my tv can possibly only handle 1080i? thanks

Sounds like your TV might only be able to handle 1080i.

Samsung TV's are a bit of a sod to sort out. My HD Ready LE19R86 does not work in a lot of resolutions with my laptop, and although it can do 1080p, refuses to do the resolution Windows wants it to.
