I'd rather they end it properly in film form, rather than go back into the past. Jack's character has been developed SO much since the first season and he has changed so much that I'd much rather the film be relevant to who he is at the end of season 8.

The problem with having it in the past is that you know who will and wont die (as in Tony, Michelle, Chloe, Palmer etc), so half the suspense goes out the window - so they probably wont do that, however, I would love to see the film have all the old characters even if means setting it in the past. But if they do it in the future, I hope they dont bore us with Renee's messed up character. I hope they bring back Tony and have him redeem himself and Jack trust him again somehow .. or atleast a bit.

If you want to see more of Dennis Haysbert, watch The Unit - a great show!

Depends on the character to be honest.
Hmmm "The Unit is an American action-drama television series that focuses on a top-secret military unit modeled after the real-life special forces unit commonly known as Delta Force. "

Interesting. Might watch it later tonight, thanks! +rep

An update - the cast and crew wrapped the 24th and final episode of season eight the other day, and they were then told that the show is over. They refuse to take it to another network like NBC, despite their interest in picking the show up, as they feel that after eight seasons, it's time for the show to come to a close. The final couple of scripts were edited to end the show a little differently, and Fox are still going to do a feature film, so Kiefer Sutherland said the other day that the 24th episode will lead nicely into the film.
