i'd keep it. since it was bought for you as a gift. would be rude to give it away. your parents obviously think a lot of you to buy you a car like that.
I'm burnin' up for you baby.

I love my automatic, all of our vehicles are now autos. I will probably get a manual in my next car though
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

Nice car but dont sell it. of course its up to you but your parents bought you it as a gift .

Quite frankly you all can bash automatic all you want but have you actually driven one before?. Until you do, you cant comment on them as once you have, youll be wondering why you even bothered with a manual at all .

For the record i do drive a manual

Just seems kind of rude towards your parents to outright sell it. Especially if they took the time and care to buy you it as a gift.

If I were them, I'd probably be insulted if that's what you were to do.

What do the two Ds even mean? And having a Park setting seems stupid when you still have to apply the handbreak. In fact manuals seems a lot less complicated than autos to me - I don't even get how shifting down works. I was reading about it in the manual for my Mini (because it has the info for both the auto and manual models) and it said some mad stuff that you had to do with the pedals or something. Just sounded stupid. MANUAL IS EASIER AND BETTER LOL

Talk to your parents about it. I'm assuming it's a mid-90s 1.6, if so in good nick, taxed and tested would be worth 1,500 of anyones money. A little Mini 1000 Auto however, if you shop around you might just pick one up around the grand mark, meaning that you would have a little extra towards paying your parents back. The Mini would be the most sensible option given that it's cheaper to insure and drinks less fuel. I disagree with what people are saying about it being rude to your parents, if the car is impractical for you they should understand. Just as long as you discuss it with them first.

Automatics are quite simple. You don't have to apply the handbrake in park unless you're on a steep incline. D3 is for city traffic and D is for all traffic. That clutch is a pain!

Dude, it'd be a right kick in the balls to the 'rents to sell the mx-5 and buy a mini, manual isn't exactly hard and nu-skool mini's are for gays and women, the mx-5 is also rear wheel drive so have fun trying to show off in the wet and going sideways into something.

i'm the star in the reasonably priced car!
