They don't bother me much as it's one constant noise so it doesn't take long to get used to them.

Plus it helps drown out ITV's **** commentary...

I heard FIFA were thinking about banning them because they prevent players communicating on the field and are even keeping them awake at night. But I was surprised to hear Carra saying they don't really bother them - they don't even notice them during games. Anyway they said today that FIFA have dropped it now which to be fair I can understand because it's obviously a big deal in South Africa. At least the natives are showing some enthusiasm regardless of who is playing - I can't help imagining how dull our nation would be in comparison if we were hosting the tournament.

There would be singing, like every other World Cup lol. We'd be ready for a World Cup if it happened tomorrow.

I don't get why players moan so much about it. I doubt you'll get your Serbs, Turks, Croats, Poles (bad examples I know as the last 3 aren't in it) moaning about them because they play in grounds which are loud a lot. Are you trying to tell me that some of the derby games in Europe or around the world aren't noisier than these vuvuzelas?

I was getting at the fact that the South Africans seem to be as excited, if not more so, than the attending fans about every match. In this country we would only care about our own games - I can't imagine anybody going to other matches that don't concern our own team(s).

There'd be more away fans if it happened in England and it would actually sell out. Better transport links and proximity to Europe. Gotta rememeber that apart from Japan & South Korea every other World Cup has been pretty much the same and have worked out quite well. English fans are no different to the German fans four years ago.
