Get a £500 laptop and go on holiday with the rest. Do you need such a highly spec'd machine?

lmaoo, I'm not decided yet, not planning on buying it for a few weeks. Atm it does just make more sense to save a few hundred quid on a machine with the same capabilities as one that's more money with an apple logo on... Admittedly it's not quite as simple as that and it would be great to have a macbook. Mehhhh, idk.

Just go to pc world or wherever and have a go with one that is out on display. The salesman at PC world when I went to buy mine was luckily an apple fan boy and he was telling me why they are so much better than PC's, how easy it is to learn from a pc and what I should do when I get home with it, it was as if he went back to the day he got his first mac and just wanted to make sure I have such a good time with mine to.

Sell the iPod touch and get back some of the money?

But really you'd be better off finding one on ebay, or at least Apple's backstock of refurbished (yet new condition) laptops.

I bought my MacBook from the Apple refurb store, turned out it was brand spankin' new, just End of Life!

I think it was around £670 at the time.
