Do you just have to post a picture of the room and then can you delete the room or do you have to keep it the same as it was?

It would be preferred that you keep the room until 2nd August (especially if you are non-HC/VIP so we can check you have not exceeded the furniture limit - if you have the :furni tool in the picture its not as much of an issue).
