Kids learn about ******s in sex education and the word is in the Oxford English Language Dictionary. I wouldn't really call it inappropriate, it's a standard word and its usage doesn't seem like it would offend anyone.

    Ignore my post then ;l

D'ick is a male name, are you saying someones name is inappropriate? thats harsh, Fair enough people can call me richard instead of d'ick but you need to understand people actually have the name D'ick. You wouldn't filter any other names would you?

But dick can also be used as an insult, so I understand why that is filtered. Unflitering it would just be like unflitering bitch so people wouldn't have to say female dog. It is just unnecessary.

I don't get what you mean? You're not allowed to avoid the filter in spoilers, unless it's an image and as longs the swearing isn't too bad and a warning is added. But it's up to the moderator to decide what they think is 'bad' enough to be removed! I was always told if it had fuck or fucking then it should be removed other words at the moderators discretion the same as videos :p

I would have to say that although the filter can sometimes get on my nerves, the B and D word would only be used 90% of the time as an insult. Or look at it this way, what do you think is more likely to happen; someone joining the forum named D/ck or someone insulting another member with the word d/ck? Same with the B word, a lot more likely for it to be used as an insult than someone referring to their dog.

what! why?! its no different to us just making an image in paint, using the text tool and writing what we want, and inserting that in a spoiler? So you may as well allow moderate swearing in text, as long as it comes with a spoiler, and a warning

That's not my argument though, my argument is D/ck is someone's name, fair enough if it could be used as an insult. However saying ones birth name is 'inappropriate' that's rude and quite insulting in my opinion.

D;ck seems to be a very uncommon name nowadays but I do see your point. But I just think more people would end up getting insulted by getting called it in an offensive way as opposed to people getting insulted from joining the forum and finding out their name is filtered.

I like how people still fight to get such words unfiltered even though they aren't really gonna be much use on the forum..
Plus we all know, even though most of you are finding excuses, we all know that these words are used inappropriately at least 90% of the time.. stop making mod's lives harder..
