For some reason your post reminded me, but Creative are making/have made a 10" Android tablet running 2.1 if I remember correctly. Not sure if it'll be any good though

Back on topic. I could of sworn the next Android OS would allow for greater customisations with the UI, or did I misinterpret UI changes? I always thought you could change the colour of the Notifications Bar and the bit at the bottom to whatever colour you wanted without having to find a theme pack. That would be useful for an Android update at least, if it isn't in the next one :/

Applying theme packs on Android, though, is as easy as installing metamorph on the market. However I agree with you that more customization as such would be lovely. Compared to iOS at present, though, Android is already ten steps ahead in UI customization.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

Not at all. Jailbreak it and you can theme it however the hell you want. But I agree, users shouldnt have to jailbreak to set themes etc.

Android is a FAR better OS when it comes to customising it. Sorry but that is true.

I love the HTC Sense UI far too much to go to this at the moment Hopefully a custom rom is made so I can try it though

    Yeah, like widgets.
Then root your phone and get a 2.x Rom and flash it. Then you will have Android 2.x!

T-Mobile aren't responsible for HTC not compiling newer versions of Android for their device (well, they are for 2.1, but HTC haven't updated it to 2.2 yet)

    Go moan at HTC.

Either way, I think it's fair they don't want to support an 18 month old phone.

    Default Android Market Update

Looks like a new Android Market Update will be with us very shortly.

    • A new user interface including a carousel view at the top of the screen
    • 2 new categories, one for widgets, and one for live wallpapers, given their popularity.
    • A "related apps" feature to suggest other apps you might like to try
    • Single-tab view of an app's information, so no more switching between tabs to read about an app before downloading
    • A new content rating system (I believe this will cover age ratings, as well as user star ratings)
    • A reduction in the refund window from 24 hours to 15 minutes (apparently most refunds by users occur within the first 15 minutes of installing an app)
    • Apps can be filtered by screen size and density, to help target the right version of an app to devices.
    • Apps can be targeted to OpenGL texturing abilities, to prevent games that won't work on older devices from showing on them
    • Apps can now be upto 50 MB, rather than 25 MB
