And I don't think people really think of it as important any more and I don't see a problem with it. The only possible problem is that marrying shows a sign of commitment and preparedness for the outcomes.

I think it's fine if two people love each other.

I look down upon it if they're just doing it for fun though.
    One for the road.

really saving yourself for marriage is terrible. if you both wanna do it but are saving yourselves, all you're doing is creating more tension to force yourself into marriage, which is never good. men subconsciously want to spread their seed, so the mindset goes: i like this girl, i really wanna bang her >> the only way i can bang her is if i marry her >> that makes me want her more, i must be in love so we should get married >> i'm a disappointment in bed and i dont even like this girl what did i do?!?!

...why? whether or not you love each other or even hate each other, if you're not trying to have babies, the only reason you'd have sex is for "fun"

Hmm, although I like the idea of not having sex before you marry someone, I don't see it as something everyone could do. You get the couples who save themselves before marriage because they feel they have to, so they aren't intimate at all with their partner, and then there's the couples who are saving themselves but can still be intimate in other ways.
If I did decide to save myself it would be my own decision and not because of my culture/religion or because I felt I had to. It takes a lot of self control to save your feelings for your honeymoon night but I suppose that's what makes it more special

the ONLY reason people save themselves for marriage is because of their culture/religion, because marriage itself is a cultural/religious enterprise.
