Branded VS non branded clothing.

I tend to wear band merch all the time, I literally have stacks of shirts so i suppose that doesnt count as branding, but with jeans/shoes I definitely go for brands. I just feel more comfortable wearing shoes from an established brand, and cheap jeans just look ****

If i'm allowed to say I like Fed Perry, Henri Lloyd etc does this count?

I'd rather plump for quality stuff like this any day and like Ben Sherman, but it depends on what actual article of clothing!

It matters to some people though, I know a few people who might feel insecure if they aren't wearing branded names alongside a group who may be slightly better off wearing branded clothing. It reverts back to the thing about social status.

I don't think it's insecure. Sure, peer pressure will obviously have a role to play but some people build their reputation/popularity on their image and are therefore more likely to spend most time on improving that while other people build their reputation on other things such as academic work (like me, I'm a nerd lol) and therefore spend more time on that rather than worrying about designer labels.

Most of the stuff I buy is just unbranded. Got a few branded things, but no one seems to care whether it's branded or not, it's just a shirt. But generally branded stuff obviously looks nicer so I'll buy some of that from time to time.

Stuff with huge logos is tacky, like Jack Wills. lmaoo I mean sorry but it's hardly a bespoke Saville suit or the latest pair of Louboutins now is it? It's a pair of pyjamas where 90% of the price is down to having the brand name in enormous lettering on the front.
