    Gemma, your situation is quite hard. Obviously you don't want to upset any of your family, however you need to remember your aunt/gran (can't remember what you said in your post ) have only helped you thus far in your life. You will work foir about 47 years, so you really need to make sure you go in to a career that you enjoy - and not one which has a decent wage, but you dislike. Just remember that x

    My family have never pressured me to follow a certain career path, and know what I wish to do in the future. I guess they won't pressure me in to anything, but they have certain expectations of who I will become. But who knows what the future holds

    my parents have never really minded as long as it was something I enjoyed. Though my dad does look down on certain things, for instant degrees. I originally wanted to go into media after I started failing at history and my dad was not happy that I wanted to do a degree in it.

    Luckily I went back to my original love which is Archaeology so he's happy.
