*Used to be* It's not anymore. It's 50% public votes. 50% panel of music professional judges.

Germany (last years winner)'s entry - not as good as last year imo but she's still fit

If we are lucky we usually have Ireland and Malta voting for us (being a former colony) - stretching it a bit and we'll sometimes pick up some Swiss/Swedish/Finn votes.. but at a big big strecth it seems. It'll be pretty much as it always is, with the former Soviet bloc voting for one another - we may do slightly better perhaps, what with the Royal Wedding.

I think the United Kingdom will do a little better this year and come 20th because of Blue being popular all over the world but i wouldt say could do any better.

    Thats just my thought

It's not done like that anymore 50% of the score is from a panel of music-industry specialist judges and 50% public vote - giving it a fair vote.

20th? Even Daz Sampson did better than that.

Bizarrely enough, in your ever so slightly stereotypical sweeping statement regarding the source of our votes at Eurovision, you mentioned that 'at a stretch' the UK receives points from three of the ten countries which didn't vote for the UK in 2009. Also, half of the UK's points last year (only five, but still) came from the former Soviet bloc (Azerbaijan and Georgia), as well as 1 point from Albania and 4 from Ireland. The UK came last last year because the song was shocking. It's as simple as that. If Eastern bloc voting was as rife as everyone says, Lena wouldn't have won, and Mother Russia probably would have done better than 11th.

To me, and many Eurovision fans, the results of the last two years have most definitely been based on quality rather than location in Europe.

EDIT: Also, the UK came last with the juries AND the televoting last. I think it's safe to say the entire population of Europe thought "That Sounds Good to Me" was horse poo.

Yes 20th because I believe that after the year when Daz Sampson was on it, all the other countries just voted for what country they liked and not the song.

When it was Daz Sampson and the years before that they voted for the song but now I think its been slowly going on by voting for their favourite country and not the song as i've already said
