    But at the same time its promotion. If they put adverts in and stuff, people will listen and those who like it will go out and buy it. Some will obviously just go and download it but that would happen with or without Spotify

    I think the main reason Spotify had to revoke free is because of Apple's change in policy which meant 30% of their profits from selling in-app went to Apple, which many companies have cited as a reason they've closed doors. I'm not too arsed because I pay for premium and I wouldn't go back to anything else, premium is *awesome* and so worth it.

    Alas people are cheapskates lol.
