From past experience myself, everything in common/so alike is not what is best. For example, this boy nearly a year ago and me were inseperable, we were so alike etc. and then he chose someone he hardly spoke to over me when they have hardly anything in common. However, now I have someone who has different interests to me and it's working great, you need to explore the world and try different females before settling down with just one!

Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Your situation is not unique, this 'true love' isn't something no one but you can understand, get over yourself and get over her (it'll have to be in that order too). I'm not surprised she went for the other guy over you, you're the love sick nice guy that gets caught up over one girl and proclaims a 2 week relationship as true love.
