It does work with it, that's the problem for you
I'm searching for either a space, comma or exclamation-mark at the end of usernames to know when to register a username, so unfortunately where your name ends with the period tagging wont work for you. Scott's just suggested the addition of something where you could do "[@]@Dave[/@].;" in the event that your username has a period or other hotletter at the end.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

does a new line not end the @? had trouble tagging in a post last night when i'd tagged a user then started a new line.
New line should cancel itPost example, i know on another forum there was a problem with chrome (I think it was chrome) where posting links would also link the first letter in the new line)i.e. if I linked 'it' it would also continue to link the 'P' on the next line, so could be same type of problem.[@]@publicised[/@]starts a new line
