Edit: to add, I am interested in the total specs of your Dell though because I was looking at Dell laptops before, if you're willing to share or have a link.
    Dell XPS L501X
    Intel Core i5 M480 2.67GHz (2.9GHZ Turbo)
    8GB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT420M & Intel HD Graphics (auto swaps)
    250GB Hard drive.

Unfortunatelythey don't sell this exact one any more since they refreshed it a few months after I got this so all the new ones have Sandybridge CPU's and 500 series nvidia GPU's.
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.

Decent specs for a recent laptop, my MacBook's is:

    Intel Core Processor i5 2435M (3ghz turbo)
    4GB DDR3
    Intel 3000 gfx
    750GB HHD

Do you really get 7ish hours on battery? That was the big selling point for me, although I have to say I've fallen for the backlit keyboard, awesome trackpad and even the magnetic power adapter now that I've used them.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

You can't buy a brand new MacBook in the UK for less than £849, so he has a point.

I get around 4 hours out of my battery and then I can also turn on the Dell power save features which will drastically increase the battery life.

Ah, well. 4 hours is decent I suppose.

They're not that expensive over here so the point doesn't extend to the land of the moose, my friend

Yes i just got my MacBook Pro, and its probably the best thing ever, i am a avid Apple user, so i love it to bits. then again, i don't game on the computer so, probably not for you. id rather buy the Mac and play video games on a console than buy a PC..
