    My brother is 16 and he always gets ID because his mate looks really young so they assume the my brother just looks older. He just takes his passport and then there's no confusion.

    National Insurance Number's do not class as I.D
    When you're 16 you can apply for a provisional license and if you're planning on going to college / sixth form you can get a student card.
