they've been banned now thankfully, i never liked the trap games, they weren't even fun and if the host disliked you, you sure wouldn't win, really unfair but glad they're gone

ahhh interesting!@Jurv;
Oh, I didn't see this thread until now but we banned it earlier in light of the influx of PMs I received about it!Trap was held 4 times in December, 3 times in January, 3 times in February and 0 times in March. It's clear to see that it's never really been a huge issue, but we can see how it can be potentially abused (similar to Costume Change which is also banned).
I don't remember a time when it was banned in the past either. I remember hosting it back when I first joined the team during the Valentines period in February 2009!
Thanks for your feedback!![]()

Trapping games are extremely unfair regardless of who the host is and where they're putting the items.
I remember always playing these and because I didn't team up or group I got targetted when the sticky rules specifically said group people will be targetted more. If you don't go with your own rules then don't host the game at all tbf.
Glad to see the department taking on feedback though.

Just wanted to add on that about a year ago I created a thread asking for both trap games and 5 seconds to kick to be banned and I was ignored (from the info I got from Mathew just now). I do understand that 5 seconds to kick is not hosted a lot, however to my knowledge it was hosted a fair bit in HxSS last year and is scattered around the year here and then.
Quite frankly I've never liked the 5 seconds to kick game because the organisation of the game can be ruined. Firstly I was quite sure that events organisers and general management were the only ones to get rights in an event because they're the only ones who, generally, can be trusted with them (even if some do indeed slip out of the net). Within those 5 seconds, though, bars can be moved and any ghosts could get in and then can carry on playing the game, giving them an unfair advantage. Furthermore when it was hosted before, several members in the VIP area were kicked several times, kind of defeating the object of the game. It just makes it look like the host's fault when they're not even playing the game causing more trouble than it's worth, I feel.
Maybe that's just me, though.
That is just you lol. I've enjoyed that game myself and I think generally people want to win more than they want to cause disruption and it's really easy to see who's abusing the rights cos yeah only one person has rights at a time. Never seen it abused myself.Just wanted to add on that about a year ago I created a thread asking for both trap games and 5 seconds to kick to be banned and I was ignored (from the info I got from Mathew just now). Perhaps. I think my problem is the consequences of those who disrupt (which does happen even if you've not seen it!) as the host gets the stick and some people may creep in.
